Little Louie’s story keeps getting messed up, and he’s not happy about it! What’s the point of telling his tale if he can’t tell it perfectly? This is a story about embracing life’s messes.

I suggest Justina Blakeney's 'The New Bohemians' for interiors that really pop and excite. I loved this book so much more than I thought I would. I already tried out one of the projects and am looking forward to more. It's a book that teaches and inspires, and I just plain love looking at pretty houses. A little on the etsy/DIY side for my taste but there are also some unique, sleek, and tailored homes.

Insights into interesting interiors of everyday people with great design eyes. Mixture vintage, antique and modern, just shows objects with excellent lines never go out of style. I don't know why I keep checking out books that come out of blogs I follow. I always expect them to be more than print copies of things seen or read on the blogs. This one, like the others I've read, is not. I like the site so much, I almost didn't write this review, but that seemed dishonest somehow.

Bonney has already inspired her readers with her blog and now she created a book to do so. I fully intend to give it a careful read five or ten years from now and have a good laugh. By then I’ll see which ideas stand the test of time, the things that may be overdone and ubiquitous now but still have longterm resonance. For now, this will just sit on my bookshelf – real, not wallpaper. Did you know you can make cake plates by gluing a saucer on a candlestick? Unless you’ve been living under a DIY rock this past year, I bet you did.

This has a little of both and does not disappoint. I wouldn’t have minded if this section were bigger. Make sure to give this part a flip-through if you see it in a bookstore. A new home décor bible by one of the Web's most popular and beloved design bloggers. My Aunt is left with a home that needs some help on a limited income. I would love to obtain this book as a present to her.

I have compiled a list of my favorite picture books that help children develop empathy, relate to others, and talk about their feelings. This book makes me sad about all the things I want to do to my house, but can't afford. I just have to remind myself that these people probably have massive credit card debt. Some good stuff, but a lot that I recognize as having seen on Design Sponge already at various points in time. Fun to flip through, but even flipping through got tiresome after a while . I flipped through the DIY section in the back because I am not crafty, but I can see how many people would enjoy these projects.

You probably already have a fair understanding of what can be made from a reclaimed wood pallet, and more bunting and homemade wreaths than anyone has a right to possess. Even so, there are some neat projects, like a glass dome full of butterflies that only takes $300 in supplies – but it is beautiful. A disproportionate amount of the tutorial section is dedicated to floral arrangement, but it also includes slipcovers and… well, that’s about it. Cathy Green, August 04, 2012Love this book. I love Design sponge but we have a moody Internet connection and most days I can’t get on to read the blog, so having a copy of the book would sure be nice. I could get my DS fix without fighting with my Internet provider. How the beautiful people live, but with some down to earth suggestions. A very good book for a young person beginning to develop or fine-tune their taste. Seriously, i'll be scanning, rereading, referencing, indulging, etc for the next decade.

The writing is clear and concise and each room shot has accompanying blurbs with tips, tricks, and notes on where to find similar or identical pieces featured in the room shots. 1)Sneak Peeks - This is the largest part of the book which is exactly what it says, a peek into someone's living space. You can go to the blog and see so much more of these spaces which were originally on the blog, but here you will just get a peek of that space. A great many of the spaces are of people who are very successful in interior design or a related field. The book begins with a “Sneak Peek” into other homes of creative people who decorate to reflect their personality. These homes are not “Architectural Digest”–but real, sometimes funky, always creative and often DIY homes.

As a perpetual student of design, I can’t think of a better way to honor and appreciate such amazing talent and ideas. And let it serve as something to aspire to in my future. It even had instructions for basic flower arrangements, a much overlooked but useful skill in design.

The essential idea of this book is to show the reader how to create a home that reflects their personality and makes them happy. It’ll even give you ideas for stenciling your accent wall and wrapping your gifts in reclaimed maps. But even though I bought this book shortly after it came out, I’m already starting to find it dated.
